Breton Scott is a Director, Technical & Commercial Consultant, Vocational Training Solutions Consultant, Specialist Advisor to Boards and Philanthropist. He has over 2 decades' post-qualification experience in a variety of industries, but predominantly in the mining, project engineering and vocational education industries. He has been involved in a variety of activities ranging from consulting for educational solutions, management consulting, mine operations, project management, mining and rock engineering, mineral asset valuations, due diligences, EPCM contracts and related feasibility studies.

Over the past 16 years, whilst in the project consulting and engineering industry (excluding production experience) Breton has systematically built significant experience in managing projects in a variety of industries, departments and divisions as business units. Each required office administration, marketing, networking, proposal management, HR considerations, financial modelling, fund raising and budget, time and quality management. Even though Breton is a mining engineer by training, he has developed skills suitable for general and executive management, business administration and project management. He can operate in any environment, not only mining. (Examples include process plants, water treatment plants, business advisory to other consulting engineering practices, agriculture, corporate social responsibility projects etc.) During this period, Breton has been involved in over 160 projects in a variety of industries and at different stages of development.

Breton has also been involved with asset valuations for various business rescue and liquidation practitioners, business plan development for start-up businesses in other non-mining related industries; as well as company valuations.


Dave's career has spanned 30 years in the mining industry with major miners Anglo, Rio Tinto, Lonmin and Goldfields and equipment manufacturer Sandvik. Primarily in the leadership of mining operations and including technical and strategic consulting roles, he has gained wide experience in underground gold, platinum, diamond and copper mining. He has a particular passion for highly mechanised massive mining, business transformation, operational effectiveness and business improvement.

Dave qualified cum laude as a Mining Engineer, completed various management and leadership development programmes and studied towards a Masters in Business Leadership. He is professionally associated with AMMSA and SAIMM.

Dr Nicolaas C. Steenkamp works as a Manager: Earth Observations Services, Geological and Geotechnical Consultant and Mining Business Analyst; with over 15 years of experience in a broad range of fields. He obtained a PhD in Geology at the University of Pretoria. He is a registered professional with SACNASP and a member of the GSSA, SASS and SAIMM.

He is involved in contractor management, geological, geotechnical and geometallurgical project work and studies. Dr Steenkamp has a background in the geological field that includes, but is not limited to: Geological- and geotechnical core logging, underground face mapping, regional surface mapping, greenfields- and brownfields exploration, satellite imagery observations and interpretation as well as ethical sourcing / block chain auditing. He has also been involved in technical reporting, due diligence and desktop studies. Dr Steenkamp has a background in X-ray analytical methods, specifically EMP and XRF. He was most recently involved in a shaft sinking and decline rehabilitation project where a unique set of geological and geotechnical challenges are faced in terms of development through sand and stiff clays. He was the Geology Stream Lead for WorleyParsons RSA/ Advisian and was a Project Manager for small and short studies.


Danielle Scott is a Marketing Management and Business Administration specialist with a career spanning almost 2 decades. Danielle ran her own consultancy business for many years, focusing on Marketing, PR, Event Management and Marketing Strategy Compilation and Budget Allocation. Being involved in many different types of industries from Mining, Engineering (and specifically HVAC), Power Tools and Hardware, Security, FMCG to Pharmaceuticals, she has become extremely organised, assertive and dedicated.

Danielle has a BCom Marketing Management Degree with specialisations in interpersonal and group communications, commercial computer systems and business administration. In addition to her marketing capabilities, she has a flare for finance and is very conversant in managing finance departments and teams. Danielle prides herself in her quality organisational skills, meeting deadlines and her incredible eye for detail.


Andre Jansen van Vuuren has over 4 decades' post-qualification experience in Maintenance, Asset Management, Project Management as well as business proposals and set-up. He has been involved in a variety of activities ranging from operations and maintenance management, trackless mining operations, underground gold mining maintenance activities, project management, commissioning small and large business units, business proposals and set up. He also determines training needs analysis and the development of training material in the desalination and acid mine drainage as indicated.

Over the past 42 years, whilst in the maintenance and asset management industry Andre has systematically built significant experience in managing various type of operations in various sectors in a variety of industries, departments and divisions. Andre is intimately involved with SAAMA (southern African asset management association), member of GFMAM (global forum for maintenance and asset management) and various other organizations overseeing ISO 55000 gap analysis and other standards, qualifications, unit standards, and technical skills evaluation in previous roles. He has developed skills suitable for conducting quality control reviews and audits on training courses and content development. He can operate in any environment, not only mining.

More recently Andre was involved in skills development in coaching and training Engineers to desirable skill levels in a 200 MLD/day Desalination Plant in Oman as well as a large mining and multiprocessing operation in Madagascar.


Gerrie Bezuidenhout is an ECSA accredited Mining Engineer / Manager with more than 20 years' experience in mining engineering projects and consulting, which includes experience in sales and development of mining products, explosives and trackless mechanised equipment. He was also been responsible for implementing numerous projects and technologies at various South African mines. Gerrie has a background in conventional and trackless mining methods. He also has significant experience as an explosives engineer. Gerrie has also demonstrated the ability to manage large projects as project- and study-manager and delivering inputs on mining engineering deliverables. Gerrie has an exemplary track record in evaluation and specification requirements for mining equipment selection and sales.


Gayle has more than 35 years' work experience in report compiling, editing, proof reading, style control, schematic diagrams, quality management and delivery of professional reports with her years of experience. Skills gained over the past 13 years of project support of templates – consulting companies, client, project administration and company portal support as required and advanced user of MS Office Word and PowerPoint and basic Excel with built-in company platform.

Her qualifications and multi-skill levels have been advantageous having gained the knowledge, skills, experience and understanding the mining and engineering terminology in preparing/compiling quality reports, studies, proposals, templates, documents and schematic diagrams of a high standard in compliance with Quality Assurance and ISO standards. She also offered technical support and assistance to the team in MS Office – Word, PowerPoint and basic excel spreadsheets. This year gained experience in working on software Proman (Project Management Systems – Accounting, client database and new business database) Kissflow (Workflow Management Tool) Survey Monkey (Customer on Line Surveys).

Gayle with her many years work experience is a self-motivated, driven and good communicator and team member within the company and team. Able to work independently and meets her deadlines, always giving 100%.


Stephen Kearns is a seasoned mining professional, with his career starting in 1959. He is a practical mining professional who holds a Mine Manager's, Mine Overseers' and Mine Surveyors' Certificates of Competency along with various courses completed through the Witwatersrand Technical College, Wits University and UNISA. He is also a member of Association of Mine Managers of SA. Stephen is well known in the industry (through the SA College of Mining, Technical Tutors SA and Management Development Services) where he has assisted the large majority of certificate holders within the South African mining community. He is an independent consultant and an associate of Bowline Professional Services. He has held positions within the mining industry ranging from Mine Manager to Chief Executive Officer for a variety of operating mines.
